This app ("Peppercheck") is operated by CloveClove ("we", "us", or "our"). For inquiries, please contact us at the email address listed at the bottom of this page.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account Information

• Email address (obtained through Google Sign-In)
• Display name and profile image (set by the user within the app)
• Timezone (automatically obtained from device information)

Task Data

• Task details (title, description, completion criteria)
• Referee matching preferences
• Evidence (text and uploaded images)
• Judgment messages
• Rating comments
• Point and reward balances and transaction history

Payment Information

• Subscription information (provider, status, and purchase transaction identifiers from Apple / Google Play)
• Stripe account identifiers (used for receiving referee payouts)
• Payout history

Credit card and bank account information are handled directly by Apple, Google, and Stripe and are never stored on our servers.

Device Information

• Push notification tokens (FCM)
• Device type
• Last active timestamp

3. Purpose of Use

We use collected information for the following purposes:

• To authenticate users and manage accounts
• To provide, maintain, and improve the Peppercheck service
• To process payments and referee payouts
• To send push notifications about task updates and matching results
• To respond to inquiries and provide support
• To ensure safety, prevent fraud, and enforce our terms of service

4. Third-Party Services

We share information with the following third-party services as necessary to operate the app. These providers are located outside of Japan (primarily in the United States) and process personal information in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable local laws.

Google

Email and profile information for sign-in authentication, and transaction information for subscription billing on Google Play. (United States)

Apple

Transaction information for subscription billing on the App Store. Personal information from your Apple Account is not shared with us. (United States)

Stripe

Stripe Connect account information for sending referee payouts. (United States)

Firebase

Device tokens for delivering push notifications. (United States)

Supabase

Backend data storage and authentication. Media files are stored on Cloudflare R2. (United States)

Cloudflare

Website delivery and storage of user media files. Access logs include IP addresses and similar information. (United States)

5. Data Storage and Security

We use industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit (TLS) and access controls, to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may access user data only as necessary to operate the service. Such access is limited to specific purposes — handling inquiries, troubleshooting, legal compliance, and investigating misuse — and is restricted to the minimum scope required.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, personally identifiable information (profile, email address, payment information, point and reward balances, notification settings, avatar image, etc.) will be deleted promptly. However, task-related content (task titles and descriptions, evidence, judgment messages, rating comments, referee judgments, etc.) will be retained in anonymized form, with personally identifiable information removed, in order to maintain service quality and protect other users.

Evidence image files are automatically deleted 90 days after the corresponding task's due date.

Where retention is required by law or necessary for legitimate business purposes (e.g., resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, tax records), we may retain data beyond the periods above to the extent necessary.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent for data processing

8. Children's Privacy

Peppercheck is intended for users 18 and older, and is not intended for use by minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will promptly delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify users through the app or by other appropriate means. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
